Austin police identify University of Texas shooter as 19-year-old student Colton Tooley.

Law enforcement officials say they believe the gunman who opened fire with an AK-47 at a University of Texas campus library before killing himself was a student who acted alone.

Campus police Chief Robert Dahlstrom said at a Tuesday news conference that officials have ruled out the possibility of a second shooter.

He says there was initial confusion about the number of suspects because the gunman fired shots in multiple locations.

Officials say the man fired an assault rifle on the sixth floor of the library early Tuesday before killing himself.

School shooting is a topic of intense interest in the United States.This isn't the first time this has occurred in the past decade, yet it's not something one should get use to nor live in fear being near a school campus.According to research to assume a straightforward 'profile', killers do not 'snap'. They plan. They acquire weapons. These children take a long, considered, public path toward violence."
