- Without a doubt, one of the faces no one can forget was that of Victoria Soto, the teacher who saved her students when Adam Lanza opened fire at Sandy Hook. Soto told her first graders to hide in the closet. When the murderer asked her where the students were, she told them they were in the gym, and that is when he shot her. Now, the city council will decide whether to change the name of the school to hers in her memory. Soto had taught for five years at the school. Photo: Instagram
