However, on Friday morning the Guatemalan Minister of the Interior, Mauricio Lopez, retracted that version of the shootout that allegedly ended with the death of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, leader of the Sinaloa cartel. Photo: AP -
In an interview with the radio station, Emisoras Unidaz, Lopez clarified that as of 2 a.m. Friday, he could not even confirm there had been a shootout and said that security forces are patrolling via air to determine the information. Chapo's location had been filtered through Wikileaks. Julian Assange's famous portal had intercepted an email in which there was a connection established between the Sinaloa and Zeta cartels, as well as other drug groups in Central America.
