A Colorado State University student lost both her legs during a bizarre train accident in Longmont, CO. Find out more details about this tragic incident.

A 17-year-old girl lost her legs while attempting to hop on the northbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. The girl tried to jump on the freight train, but slipped and was pulled underneath.

The injured student was with three male friends and it is believed that they were on their way home to Fort Collins, CO. One male was dragged by the train, but only suffered minor injuries.

It is unclear how fast the train was going at the time of the incident, but the speed limit for trains in Longmont is about 25 mph.

Authorities are still unsure whether or not they will cite the young girl.
